a new method for comparing fuzzy quantities based on scaler value and middle-point of fuzzy numbers
Authors
abstract
the importance as well as the difficulty of the problem of ranking fuzzy numbers is pointed out. here we consider approaches to the ranking of fuzzy numbers based upon the idea of associating with a fuzzy number a scalar value, its signal/noise ratios, where the signal and the noise are defined as the middle-point and the spread of each $gamma$-cut of a fuzzy number, respectively. we use the value of a as the weight of the signal/noise ratio of each $gamma$-cut of a fuzzy number to calculate the ranking index of each fuzzy number. the proposed method can rank any kinds of fuzzy numbers with different kinds of membership functions.

FUZZY RISK ANALYSIS BASED ON A NEW METHOD FOR RANKING GENERALIZED FUZZY NUMBERS
Fuzzy risk analysis, as a powerful tool to address uncertain information, can provide an appropriate method for risk analysis. However, the previous fuzzy risk analysis methods still have some weaknesses. To overcome the weaknesses of existing fuzzy risk analysis methods, a novel method for ranking generalized fuzzy numbers is proposed for addressing fuzzy risk analysis problems. In the propose...
full textA new approach to fuzzy quantities ordering based on distance method and its applications for solving fuzzy linear programming
Many ranking methods have been proposed so far. However, there is yet no method that can always give a satisfactory solution to every situation; some are counterintuitive, not discriminating; some use only the local information of fuzzy values; some produce different ranking for the same situation. For overcoming the above problems, we propose a new method for ranking fuzzy quantities based on ...

full textA new method for ordering triangular fuzzy numbers
Ranking fuzzy numbers plays a very important role in linguistic decision making and other fuzzy application systems. In spite of many ranking methods, no one can rank fuzzy numbers with human intuition consistently in all cases. Shortcoming are found in some of the convenient methods for ranking triangular fuzzy numbers such as the coefficient of variation (CV index), distance between fuzzy set...
